The latest Brazilian national selection, the 5th Brazilian Physicists’ Tournament, took place from December 9th to 11th, 2022, hosted at the University of Campinas. The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) would like to thank all participants for their dedication and participation: even though this was the first in-person edition of the tournament after the pandemic, we managed to hold the largest edition of the tournament together! We hope it has been a very rewarding experience for everyone, with valuable moments of learning and fun. The final outcome of the 5th BPT is highly positive! After two years of remote editions, the tournament returns to in-person format and to a previously unprecedented host university for the competition. Fortunately, we can say that we’re back with full force – record number of participating universities (UFABC, UFMG, UFRJ, USP, and Unicamp), teams from all universities with several members and even guests, along with historic female participation – women made their presence felt, demonstrating that they can indeed engage in high-level physics, contributing to diversity in Brazilian science and academic environment. All these factors strengthen the BPT and increasingly establish it as a well-established national competition!
